OVERVIEW
Presented by The Dang London, The Global Performing Arts Alliance is back with the UAEs biggest Dance & Musical Theatre competition.
With exciting new categories and an incredible line up of judges and prizes to be won, this will be our biggest competition yet.
AGE CATEGORIES:
Mini: under 6
Petite: 6-8
Junior: 9-11
Inters: 12-14
Seniors: 15-19
Please note: when submitting for the competition, please go by the age the entrant will be on date of the competition.
DANCE SECTION:
Solo, duet, small groups (3-6 competitors)
Large group (7+ competitors)
CATEGORIES:
Acro, Lyrical Jazz, Street & Commercial, Theatre Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet & Tap
MT Section:
Solo, duet, MT ensemble teams 8+ (must include singing and dancing)
PLUS: DANCE FOR THE DANG:
Dance for The Dang is an individual entry competition for each age category (Juniors, Inters & Seniors only).
Battle it out on stage with your fellow competitors. Learn choreography on stage from one of our specialist judges, whilst audience members cheer along.
Make it through the rounds to be the last one standing and be crowned the Dance For The Dang champion.

JUDGES
Solange Urdang OBE
Solange trained at the Urdang Academy Lower and Upper Schools and The High School of Performing Arts in new York. She enjoyed a successful career in dance, theatre and music before going on to study art. Becoming CEO of Urdang Academy in 2001, Solange has made it one of the most prolific vocational colleges. She is the co-founder and co-director of The Black British Theatre & Film Directory, founder of Link Artists Agency and patron of several organisations.
Matt Henry MBE
Matt Henry received a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his critically acclaimed role as Lola in Kinky Boots, West End. He is also famed as a competitor on the Voice UK, with over 12 million YouTube views of his performance of Ray LaMontague’s ‘Trouble’ reaching the grand final and releasing his debut album the following year.
Dr Nathan James PhD MA
Nathan enjoys a successful career encompassing performing, teaching, choreographing, examining, and adjudicating. As a specialist in tap and musical theatre dance, Nathan has taught at many leading vocational colleges internationally including the Urdang Academy for 12 years where he was the Director of HE Programmes.
Claudimar Neto
Claudimar is one of the most talked about and sought after Commercial Dancers internationally. Trained at Urdang Academy (Diploma) and Trinity Laban, Neto has worked as choreographer and ‘head’ mix Man with the successful British Girl pop group ‘Little Mix’.
Sam Francis
Sam has performed with top recording artists such as Destiny’s Child, Beyonce and Usher. She has had a successful career as a performer and is well-known for her skills as a choreographer, director and filmmaker.
